News Director/Morning Co-Host

Pattison Media has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, talented and team-oriented News Director/Morning Co-host looking to advance their career in broadcasting.  Based in Brandon, MB, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

News responsibilities

• Lead  production of news content for web and radio to enhance the competitive position for two radio stations.
• Ensure a consistent experience for listeners.  
• Good storyteller, in short form.
• Write morning news for both 94-7 STAR and Q Country 91.5
• Write and voice AG reports.
• Balancing diverse needs of our audience and regional landscape.
• Being highly involved in the community in a news capacity or as a company representative.
• Daily news reporting and anchoring.

Co-Host responsibilities

• Regular on-air shifts, Monday to Friday Morning on 94-7 STAR
• Preparing, planning, and executing morning show, with host.  Including researching and conducting interviews.
• Must be available for remote broadcasts and station appearances.
• Daily contributions to digital platforms including website and various social media required.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with journalistic practices and principles, codes of conduct and legal requirements.
• Degree or diploma from a recognized broadcast school.
• Minimum 2 years of newsroom experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Passion for news.
• Strong on-air presence and writing skills, for on-air and web.
• Strong knowledge of Burli & Wide Orbit
• Likes to have fun in the halls.
