Junior Broadcast Technician - Melfort SK

Deadline:

November 27, 2026

Junior Broadcast Technician

Melfort, Saskatchewan

After an incredible 51 years of service, our longtime Technical Manager in Melfort has recently retired. Pattison Media is now looking for a Junior Broadcast Technician to join our Technical Services team and help support our two radio stations in Melfort.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their technical career who enjoys troubleshooting, working with technology and learning how things work. You don't need to arrive knowing everything about broadcast engineering. You'll be supported by Pattison Media's Technical Services team and will work closely with our Technical Services Manager in Prince Albert, who will provide ongoing technical support and mentorship.

If you have a background in electronics, IT, networking, telecommunications or broadcast technology and are interested in building a career in radio broadcast engineering, we'd like to hear from you.

What you’ll do:

  • Help maintain, troubleshoot and repair studio and broadcast equipment.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of radio transmission systems.
  • Support computers, servers, network equipment and other technology used by our Melfort stations.
  • Support broadcast systems including WideOrbit automation and other studio, newsroom and audio systems.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new technical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation, records and drawings.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues affecting our on-air and business operations.
  • Work with the Pattison Media Technical Services team on technical projects and upgrades.
  • Provide day-to-day technical assistance to staff at our Melfort stations.

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine interest in broadcasting, electronics and technology.
  • Education or experience in electronics, electrical technology, IT, networking, telecommunications, broadcast technology or a related technical field.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and networking.
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a larger technical team.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • A valid driver’s License.

Broadcast experience is an asset, not a requirement.

Previous experience working in radio or with broadcast equipment would certainly be an asset, but we're also interested in candidates with strong technical aptitude who are willing to learn.

You'll have the support of an experienced Technical Services team and the opportunity to develop hands-on experience with studio technology, radio automation, IT and networking, RF transmission systems and other broadcast infrastructure.

If you're technically curious, enjoy solving problems and are interested in building a career in broadcast technology, we'd like to hear from you.

Please apply below or submit a cover letter, resume and demo along with the completed Pattison Media Self ID Form before Friday, November 27th 2026 to:
