Our Medicine Hat Division is looking for a talented and passionate Digital Web Editor to oversee chatnewstoday.ca.

An average day will look like this…

• Pitch original, impactful story ideas daily.
• Create and publish digital content showcasing local people, places, events, and issues in Medicine Hat and surrounding areas.
• Assist other news team members in repurposing content for a digital audience.
• Work with the News Director to implement a digital first strategy.
• Collaborate with other Pattison Media online news portals around coverage of provincial news stories.
• Leverage social media to drive traffic to the website.
• Contribute content to CHAT TV News.

What we are looking for….

• A passionate storyteller who instinctively knows what matters most to the local audience.
• A curious person who loves talking people and sharing their stories.
• Proven ability to produce a variety of content.
• Up to date on digital trends.
• Excellent writer familiar with Canadian Press Style.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
• A willingness to work evenings and weekends when required.
• Familiarity with monitoring and measuring analytics to guide editorial decision making.
• Post secondary graduate with a minimum of two years writing and creating digital content.
