Pattison Media Lethbridge (LethbridgeNewsNow.com, Today’s Country 95.5 and All HitsB93.3 Radio) has an opening for a full-time, Swing News Reporter.

The successful candidate will be a strong writer who is aware of current issues, familiar with court reporting procedures, and prepared to cover city council, general news, agricultural news, and some sports reporting.

Since this position will cover a variety of shifts, we’re looking for a flexible and enthusiastic self-starter that we can count on to get the job done with limited supervision.

‍Note that this position will cover afternoons, evenings, weekends, and other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Write and report on local news stories
• Conduct interviews in person and on the phone,
• Write multiple stories daily for on-air and online use
• Present live radio newscasts
• Generate original story ideas for feature articles.

‍Qualifications:

• A Broadcast/Digital Communications Diploma or Degree is required
• Previous writing, reporting, digital, and on-air experience is required
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Must work well under pressure of deadlines with a positive, energetic, and friendly manner
• Working knowledge of KLZ News System or similar newsroom software, social media platforms, digital cameras& audio and video editing equipment
• Genuinely curious and interested in writing about people and community issues
• Valid driver’s license
